August has arrived and Autumn is on the horizon, AKA it’s time to take full advantage of the summer days the one way we know how: by having lots of BBQs! Socially distanced catchups with friends and family with delicious food and drink gets a massive YES from the Front Row team. Now, if only we could get the green light on some sunny weather too!
For the Meat Eaters
The question is: beef or chicken burger? Classic sausage or frankfurter? So many options to choose from! You could also go all out and sizzle some steak with pepper sauce on the side. OR set up some skewers with sliced chicken, onion, mushroom and roasted pepper… Sorry, what were we saying? Busy drooling over our BBQ spread! Don’t forget perfect burger buns and hot dog rolls, they’re a vital part of hosting the perfect BBQ!
For the Veggies and Vegans
First and foremost, if you have yet to try the Denny meat-free range, where have you been? This new line consists of sausages, burgers and also meat-free mince to be creative and do your own thing. Gosh! also have a selection of meat-free alternatives to choose from. Their collection includes falafel, flavoured bites, burgers and more with some delicious flavours to match: Moroccan spice, beetroot, garlic and parsley or butternut squash and spinach, YUM! On the Side
Sometimes the best part of a BBQ: filling your plate with a picnic-style variety! Mixed salad leaves (think lettuce, kale, spinach and rocket to up those greens), bean salads, boiled eggs and chickpeas for added protein, and don’t forget to garnish with sauces! Ketchup, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise and the classic burger sauce are essentials. Fun fact: did you know that burger sauce is a blend of ketchup and mayonnaise? Meaning you can DIY your own from ingredients that are already in your cupboard. One word: winning!
Grocery list? No problem! We all know that for the meat lovers it has to be McArdle’s Meats!
