Hi Guys! It’s Ciara O’Doherty here guest-blogging for Marshes Shopping Centre as part of the Front Row launch! I’m super excited to be teaming up with Marshes for a series of fashion posts sharing my top style tips for the Spring/Summer season ahead. So, let’s get started! For today’s post we’re looking at our favourite style staples under €50.
I’ve always believed that putting together a great outfit should never cost the earth, and so today’s challenge was to find a chic and stylish outfit for under €50! Thankfully Marshes Shopping Centre have so many stylish and affordable brands under one roof, so I knew this was a challenge I could tackle with ease! So let’s see what I choose…
1. The Biker Jacket
A good biker jacket will forever be a style staple in my wardrobe, and you really don’t have to spend hundreds to find a great style that suits you. I found this one for a steal at just €25! In the Spring/Summer months, I tend a biker jacket over all my dresses and shirts, and it’s my absolute favourite layer to keep me cosy in the chilly evenings too. If you haven’t added one to your wardrobe yet, do it and you can thank me later!
Top Tip: I recommend sizing up one or two sizes for a nicely oversized boyfriend fit, so you can easily layer it up with other items.
2. A pair of Chinos
Rather than always opting for jeans, I find trousers to be super chic and comfortable (especially in the warmer months) and they can look super stylish dressed down into a casual look. You can find a multitude of fits and styles in Marshes Shopping Centre, but I opted for this classic tan check pair, which came in at under €15. Trousers and chinos are often cast aside as workwear, but don’t ignore this incredible wardrobe staple, they can look just as chic dressed down in a casual look, while feeling more “put-together” than a simple pair of jeans. Try it and you’ll soon become a chino-convert like me!
3. The Classic White Tee
Another style staple in my eyes, a classic white teeshirt will give you some serious mileage in your wardrobe. They look good paired with just about any outfit and you’ll end up reaching for it at least a few times per week! For such a simple item you shouldn’t break the bank, and I found this off-white one for under €10. It has a soft thick material and the perfect longer length for tucking into jeans and trousers, one of my favourite styling tricks!
Top Tip: Take a size up on your teeshirt to leave extra room to tuck into your bottoms or roll up the sleeves if desired!
4. Multiway Bag
When it comes to accessory trends, I am all about a multiway bag. This Spring/Summer we’re seeing a huge trend of waist and belt bags that can also be worn as clutches and mini-bags, meaning you get even more mileage out of your purchase. This style we choose for under €10 came with additional straps for both a belt bag and cross-body, so I used the waist attachment as a belt for my chinos, and set the longer strap aside to wear the purse as a mini clutch. These multiway bags are particularly handy for travel and holidays as they save on luggage space and work as an evening bag if needed. If you haven’t picked one up yet, trust me, you won’t regret it!
5. Gold Accessories
The finishing touch to any outfit, well-chosen accessories these have the power to really elevate any look. You don’t need to over-spend to find some great styles that will work with a multitude of outfits. Layered gold necklaces are having a huge moment right now, so I chose a pack of two for under €10 to layer over the basic tee for some added interest. So whether you’re a gold or silver lover, choosing a few key styles that you can mix and match into your outfits will help take your look to the next level.
