By now, we thought we would be traipsing our chic Autumn clothing palettes through Marshes with Pumpkin Spice lattes and shopping bags in tow. Unfortunately, with the next few weeks feeling quite uncertain, we’ve decided to bring you the looks and items you can pick up via click and collect or start your plan for shopping post lockdown 2.0.

While we’ve all jumped head-first into loungewear life (cosy knits and bare-faced with beauty serums on for the majority of our days), it doesn’t mean that we can’t look forward to leaving behind laid-back looks and stepping into the elegant styles we’ve been missing. It’s a chance to get excited about curating our new and improved 2.0 glow. We’re thinking understated luxury, classic yet bold and bright, both elegant and flamboyant, but of course, ready to take on the world through new eyes and new vibes!

For a while, the ’90s have been resurrected and we haven’t been afraid to dip our toes in. But instead of the usual mom jeans and slinky spaghetti straps, we’ve noticed a grunge movement revival – slinky dresses and Dr Marten-inspired boots, fishnet tights and plaid skirts. The same feel but with an elevated sprinkle of modern fashion.

Swish Swish

Straight from the runway, we saw Gabriela Hearst bring us this fabulous mustard fringe medley. Who knew designers would have fallen head over heels for fringe this year? From a 1920’s flapper-girl feel to bringing a masculine touch to our coats, bags and dresses, this tasselled trend brings a wild yet forward-ready resolve to any look.

Leather Weather

Oversized beige coats are out, the hell-for-leather look is in. So, we’ve seen cape coats, large-and-in-charge coats, suede and fringe, but the structured yet buttery soft leather look has created an elegant polish to our everyday sweater and jean looks. You may embody a little Danny Zuko, but is that such a bad thing? You know how it is, rockin’ and rollin’ and what not.

The ‘Take on the World’ suit

One borrowed from the boys but with a hint of girl power and femininity, the classic power suit aesthetic is one way we can feel we look the part, even in one of the messiest years we’ve experienced. Measured, driven and confident is the vibe we want to upgrade to from our work-from-home gear in floral combos or something bright and bold.

Giving it the Good Ol’ Boot

There’s nothing better than walking into a new season with a new ‘go-to’ boot, are we right? This runway season’s shoe stampede brought us the ‘all-terrain’ boot, a sexy motorcycle-inspired look with function at the core, that literally goes with anything. For a more refined and elegant vibe, we cannot ignore the stunning rhinestone-encrusted or jewellery-chained twinkle toes look that keeps popping up among designers. From Miu Miu to Prada, it seems everyone is taking things up a notch and walking on stardust this season.
